Who is responsible

Alistair Gatherum, a sole trader trading as Edenside Stables, is responsible for the personal information described here. For privacy questions, requests or complaints, email enquiries@edensidestables.com.

Information we use

When you send an enquiry using our contact form, we receive your name, email address, enquiry topic and message, along with anything else you choose to include. Your enquiry is sent to enquiries@edensidestables.com.

When you visit the website, the hosting service processes technical information needed to deliver and protect it, such as your IP address, browser information and request logs. Vercel Web Analytics records page views and limited details such as the page visited, referrer, approximate location, device and browser so we can see overall site use. We remove query strings from the page URL before it is sent for analytics. Analytics does not receive the contents of your enquiry form.

Why we use it

• We use booking-related enquiries to take steps you ask us to take before entering into a contract, and to respond about lessons or other services.
• We use other enquiries to answer questions and manage our relationship with you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact the yard.
• We use technical information to keep the website working and secure, and aggregate page-view statistics only to understand and improve it. We do not use analytics for advertising or to build individual visitor profiles. Our lawful basis for this personal data is our legitimate interest in operating a safe, useful website.
• We may keep or use information where we need to meet a legal obligation or establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

You do not have to send us an enquiry. Without contact details and a message, we may be unable to respond or arrange a booking.

Who handles it

Vercel hosts and helps secure this website and provides website analytics. Google provides our email mailbox, and Resend carries contact-form correspondence to it. These providers process information as needed to deliver their services. We may also share information when the law requires it or when necessary to deal with a legal claim.

These services may process information outside the UK. Where a transfer is subject to UK data protection rules, we use an applicable UK adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual safeguards. Email us if you would like details of the safeguards relevant to your information.

How long we keep it

We keep correspondence while handling your enquiry and, where relevant, for a booking or ongoing relationship. We may keep it longer where needed to resolve a dispute or meet a legal obligation. We periodically review what we hold and delete information we no longer need. The time needed depends on the nature of the enquiry and any resulting relationship or obligation.

Cookies and analytics preferences

Vercel Web Analytics does not use cookies. It uses a script and a short-lived hash derived from website requests to produce aggregate site statistics. You can object to this analytics below at any time. We save your choice in local browser storage solely to respect it. When analytics are off, the analytics script does not load. Other technical storage may be used where needed to deliver or protect the website.
